Carl was my uncle. He was a humble, sweet man. He was a skilled woodsman. Once when I was 6 or 7, I was in the woods with my dad (Glenn Miller) & uncle Carl digging for red wigglers. I almost stepped on a rattlesnake. I froze & called out to my dad who came from behind me & moved me to safety. Uncle Carl killed that rattler. His ability as a chef was second to none. If he cooked you up a plate of seafood you ate like a king.
