Carolyn J. Padgett, 83, went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 26, 2024 after a season of declining health. Carolyn retired in 2001 having served in many occupations over her lifetime but continued in her favorite roles – Momma and Nanny – and she was wonderful at both! She raised ‘em right and taught us to love Elvis as much as she did! If you knew Carolyn, you know she was quick witted and loved her family – and if you were her friend, she loved you as family. She loved to make people laugh and never held back from tellin’ it like it was!

Surviving are her son Andrew (Missy Coston) Padgett, daughter Donna (Michael) Haynes, grandchildren Taylor (Sam) Avery, Jesse (Courtney Crain) Ellis, Alan (Kurumi) Ellis, Timothy Ryan Haynes, Jacob Padgett, Daniel Ellis, Michael Haynes, Avery Coston and great-grands Paislee and Aubrey Ellis, William Avery, and expectant baby Ellis due in August. The family would also like to mention Mom’s “children from another mother” Larry Conard and Sandy Hartley both whom she held dear in her heart.

The greatest heartbreak of her life was the loss of her daughter Tara Ellis in 2002.

A graveside service will be held in Bamberg, SC at South End Cemetery at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with family receiving guest prior to the service beginning at 11 AM.
