Clarice Bell Ritter, Bamberg, SC

Mrs. Clarice Bell Ritter, 96, of Bamberg, SC passed from this earth to be with her Lord, on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ritter will be held 11:00AM Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church 11761 Heritage Highway Bamberg, SC. with Rev. David Caughman officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Cope, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the church.

Mrs. Ritter was born in Horry County, South Carolina on October 31, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Oree Jerome Bell and Reatha Carter Bell.

Mrs. Ritter was a Lander College graduate and taught for many years in the public schools of Cope, Edisto, and Bamberg. The last twenty years of her career were spent as a Title 1 Reading Supervisor in the Bamberg District 1 elementary schools.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Through the years she served on various committees and was a Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies were reading, bridge and golf.

Survivors include her daughter Bonnie Ritter McCormick of Aiken, SC, a son Richard Stephens Ritter (Leslie) of Amelia Island, Florida, two sisters Doris Bell Gump, and Loy Ballam (Bert), two brothers Joe E. Bell (Donna Lee) and Ralph Bell, a step granddaughter, Aileen McCormick, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Ritter, two brothers H.F. Bell, and Jerome Bell, and her son in law, Glenn E. McCormick.
