Bamberg, SC

George Willis Folk, SR. 82, died November 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a son of the late Leland Edgar Folk and Vivian Hughes. Mr. Folk was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Folk graduated from Denmark Olar High school class of 1961 and obtained a Criminal Justice Degree. He was a law officer for 48 years with the City of Bamberg, and was also Police Chief/BCSO Investigator and retired in 2015. He enjoyed watching cowboy movies and listening to Blue Grass Music. Additionally, he was an avid Historian of Bamberg County. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Folk, and two sons, George W. Folk, Jr. and wife Clara, Jeffrey Folk and wife Kerry, grandchildren, Shawn L. Turner, Matthew Livingston, Zachary Folk, Michael Folk, Avery Folk, Ashton Folk, Ardyn Folk, great-grandchildren, Greyson Folk, Tiller Turner and Maddox Livingston. The family would like to extend a special Thanks to staff of Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and service for the past eleven months for our dad and our family. All the nurses (Katy, Cindy, Myra, Robin and Ashley), Chaplain Ben and social worker Tracy, they did a tremendous job in preparing us for our dads transition. Avery special thanks to Gina Cuttino for bringing smiles and laughter with each visit Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Ehrhardt Cemetery, Ehrhardt SC.
