Jeffrey Dean Carson, 62, of Branchville passed away on July 14, 2025 surrounded by his wife, daughters and family at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on September 9, 1962, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He graduated from Edisto High School in 1981. Jeff went on to work at Savannah River Plant for 20+ years. He loved grilling/cooking for all who came to their beautiful home and he enjoyed sharing anything he had with anyone. He loved riding on his tractor and doing yard work whenever possible. He loved his girls and grand boys with all his heart and fought a hard battle for the last year to continue sharing this earthly life with them. Although he didn't receive the healing we prayed for here on earth, we know Jeff has received his ultimate healing. Thank you, Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Carson, of the home, two daughters, Kayla Carson Smoak (Jonathan), of Bluffton, South Carolina and Windi Carson (Aaron Chavis) of Bamberg and their mother; Kay Clary, two grandchildren, Kroy Smoak and Krew Smoak, step-son Jamey Mitchell (Stephanie), grandson Cade Mitchell. Loving siblings include Gloria Murphy (Mike),Carolyn Hutto (Tom), Mikey Carson (Connie), Eddie Carson (Angelia), and Lisa Frye (Terry Hutto).
He also is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Winford and Gloria Rudell Carson, a brother Royce Carson, a brother-in-law, Dale Frye and mother-in-law, Miriam Kinard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 16, at Cooner Funeral Home in Bamberg from 6 to 8 pm. A service to honor Jeff's life is planned for Thursday, July 17 at Bamberg First Baptist Church, 11823 Heritage Hwy, Bamberg, SC at 11:00 am.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Austin Crider, James (Bubba) Carson, Jack Hutto, George Hutto, Kevin Carson, Sage Carson, Chase Carson and Shawn Frye.
