Joseph Bell, Bamberg, SC

Mr. Joseph Bell, 79 of Bamberg, SC passed away July 11, 2018 at Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Bell will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Cooner Funeral Home, LLC 287 Mc Gee Street Bamberg, SC 29003 with Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport.

He was born on May 11, 1939 to the late Charlie Bell and the late Nora Sharpe Bell. He was married to the late Mrs. Mary Ann Bell for 55 years.

He was a Police Officer in Denmark for 29 years, and on the Denmark Fire Department. He was Chief of Police in Branchville in 1978, and was a self-employed contractor for many years.

He is survived by his sons Robert Bell, Jeffery Bell, Ricky Bell, and Douglas Bell, daughters Tammy (Jim) Newton, Nancy (Stephen) Mercer, Angela (Randy) Blackburn and Ashley (Harry) Murphy, 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Willie Bell, Jessie Bell, and 2 sisters and a special friend Maman Doumbia. He was predeceased by sons Michael Satterfield, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Parkinson Association of the Carolinas.
