Obituary

On December 15, Patti Pait Jeffcoat, 68, of Bamberg, South Carolina, left this earth to be with

her beloved husband, Derek, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.

Born on April 12, 1957, Patti lived a life grounded in faith, family, and service. She was married

to the love of her life, Derek Jeffcoat, for 39 devoted years. Together they built a life centered

on love, commitment, and family.

Patti was a faithful and dedicated member of Open Door Baptist Church, where she cherished

her church family. Her faith guided her daily life and was evident through her kindness,

compassion, and willingness to serve others.

She proudly served the citizens of Bamberg County for many years through her work with the

Bamberg County Voter Registration Office and later as a member of the Bamberg County

Board of Elections. Patti believed deeply in integrity, civic responsibility, and public service,

and her dedication left a lasting impact on her community.

Family was the heart of Patti's life. She is survived by her beloved sons Rich (Taylor) and

Jon-Derek (Alex); and her treasured grandchildren Jon Sawyer, Piper, Bennett, Raelynn and

Alexis, who brought her endless joy.

She is also survived by her brother, Ricky Pait (Cheryl), sister-in-law, Debra Jeffcoat Collins,

brother-in-law, Derwin Jeffcoat (Leigh), and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves

behind her faithful neighbors who were like her family and supported her through the years,

Roger and Betty Crider and David and Susan Horton.

Along with her husband, Derek, Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Clara

Pait; and her in-laws, Rev. Charles and Betty Jeffcoat;

Funeral services will be held at Open Door Baptist Church on Thursday, December 18,

2025, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dean Deer and Pastor Doug Ludlam officiating.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Austin Brown, Clint Collins, Patrick Collins, Dale Crider, Brannon

Crider and Bryce Jeffcoat.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Open Door Baptist Church.

Patti will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, devotion to family, and

commitment to her community. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and

service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew he
