Bamberg, SC – Ronnie F. Dempsey of Bamberg, SC, passed away at home on September 2nd, 2024, at the age of 79.

Ronnie was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 28th, 1944, to Willie "Bill" Dempsey and Myrtle Erlene Green.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Dempsey Bates and brothers, Oliver Campbell, Buford Campbell, Randall Dempsey, and twin, Lonnie Dempsey.

He married his beloved wife, Rose, on September 4th, 1965.  They shared 59 years of marriage and were an excellent example to their three children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Ronnie retired from Delavan after 40 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Word of Life Pentacostal Holiness Church,where he served many roles including deacon, Sunday school teacher, yard man, and janitor.

In his retirement, he enjoyed getting to know his community better through part-time work at the LAD site in BambergCounty.

He will be missed by his surviving family including his wife,Rose, daughter, Sandy (Chad), sons, Mark (Michele), and Ricky (Anna) along with his seven grandchildren, Brad Muñoz (Ashley), Robin Muñoz, Jordan Dempsey (Austin), Carly Dempsey, Chase Elliott, Sterling Dempsey, and William Dempsey.  Through his granddaughter, Jordan, he became the proud great-grandfather of Adaline Jones.

He will also be missed by Rose's sisters, Beverly, Marlene, Susie, Rhonda, Chell, and Betty and brother, Eric.

Private Graveside Services will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Bamberg Memory Gardens with the Rev. Gale Black officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Cooner Funeral Home, 287 McGee Street, Bamberg, SC Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
