Thomas LeRoy "Lee" Frye of Leesville, SC died on January 3rd, 2025 at age 87. He was born in Bamberg, SC on February 18, 1937 to the late Roy Lee Frye and Maybelle Thomas Frye.

Lee joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school and continued his military service retiring from the Army Reserves. Lee spent many years in night school to obtain his degree from the University of South Carolina while also working at Columbia Glass. He then retired from the work force in 2007.

Lee had a love for music and was a self-taught guitarist and harmonica player. He had a talent for writing his own songs and for writing books. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He was an avid golfer and bowler. After retirement, he enjoyed watching his westerns, listening to country music and spending time with his family.

He will be missed by his surviving family including his wife Lisa, daughters Brittany Mims of Leesville, SC and Courtney Frye of Lexington, SC; his siblings Franklin Frye, Jerry Frye (Johnnie) and Gail Russell; through his daughter Brittany, he became the proud grandfather of Cyrus, who referred to him lovingly as "Pop-Pop"; many nieces and nephews; and special family friends Shearon Smith, Josie and Chris.

The family will receive friends at the Cooner Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 8th at Cooner Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow funeral services, welcoming family and friends at South End Cemetery.
