June McMillan Kearse

June McMillian Kearse, 92, wife of the late Chester Manning Kearse of Fairfax, SC.  She was born in Bamberg, a daughter of the late William and Alberta McMillian. 

She was an avid member of St. Nicholas Lutheran Church and loved to socialize with friends, family and the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed cooking and fashion, never leaving the house unless she was dressed to the nines.

The first half of her life was spent with her first husband Richard in Camden, having met in Bamberg and wed in 1950. This union produced two children, Cindy (Daughter) and Dickie (Son). When not parenting, June could be found at the Carolina Cup serving her famous Ham Delights. If you ever asked, June was still working on her ‘first’ glass of wine. After Richards passing in 1986, June reunited with and wed Chester (1997) and moved to Fairfax, SC.

June is survived by her daughter, Cindy Segars (Tim); stepson, Chester Kearse Jr. (Tracey); step- grandson, William M. Kearse; grandchildren, Richard S. Kearse (Laura), William S. Kearse (Ashleigh), Lauren (Derek) Keegan and two great grandchildren, Aurora Keegan and CJ Kearse.  Additional survivors are one sister, Carolyn Worrix. She was predeceased by her ; 1st husband, Richard M. Kearse; son, Richard M. Kearse Jr.; stepson, Jonathan D. Kearse Sr.;  step grandsons, Jonathan Kearse Jr.; and step-granddaughter, Shellie Kearse Barker; three  sisters, Margaret Hiers, Dot Tiner and Berta Formby and a brother Charles McMillan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM July 31, 2023 at the ST. Nicholas Lutheran Church in Fairfax, SC.  Interment will be held on Tuesday August 1st at 11:00 AM at  Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC.
