Ms. Laura Ann Bessinger, 78, of Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Born November 14, 1944 in Bamberg, she was the daughter of the late Laurie Bessinger and Lizzie Bessinger. Ms. Bessinger began her career as a seamstress and eventually became a daycare operator. Ms. B was loved by all of the children she kept over the years. She loved each child she kept as if they were her own. She was a lifelong member of the Bamberg First Church of the Nazarene. Most of all, she loved her Lord, her family, and her community.
Laura Ann was the mother of George H. (Bubba) Kinsey Jr. and his wife Michelle of Ehrhardt; and “Nana” to Dakota Kinsey and his wife Brianna of Cope; and Lauran Kinsey of Bamberg and with one great granddaughter Everly Kinsey of Cope; and Wyman (Junior) Phillips who she thought of as a grandson. One brother Francis M. (Red) Bessinger and his wife Patricia of Bamberg.
She leaves behind one niece Pamela Lyons (Tony)of Smoaks, nephew Buck Bessinger of Bamberg, a great niece Kimberly Lyons (who she loved as a granddaughter) of Smoaks and Randy (Jordan) Lyons (who she loved as a grandson) of Smoaks. She also leaves behind a great-great niece Laini Lyons of Smoaks.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2022 at The Cooner Funeral Home Chapel, Bamberg with the Rev. Susan Collins officiating. Interment will follow in South End Cemetery, South Carlisle Street in Bamberg.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 3 from 5 to 7 o’clock at the Cooner Funeral Home Chapel
